Louis L'Amour, excellent writer of westerns, would read any of his books, he is by far one of the best western writers there was.I love the Kindle books, fast download and you don't have to worry about paper.

It came out a full ten years before the LONESOME DOVE series and, though it isn't nearly as good, it does lay the groundwork for this type of sweeping TV Western.

With Sam Elliott, Tom Selleck, Jeff Osterhage, Glenn Ford. If you like Sackett novels you'll love this! Walker or Dragoon? It looked bigger than the one he used in the earlier scenes. Of course, Tye has to light out before the man's relations come for him, and Orrin soon follows. The screenplay remained true to the two novels from which it was taken ("The Daybreakers" and "Sackett"). In my opinion, this is the greatest portrayal of Orrin and Tell Sackett to date. Two part TV adaptation of Louis L'Amour's third novel in the Sackett series.
