Roma Tearne is a Sri Lankan-born, Oxford-based artist, film-maker and writer. Although Brixton Beach is a semi-autobiographical novel, I don't think you need to know Tearne's background to be drawn in. `Brixton Beach’ opens with a scene you will never forget – that of the horrific bombings in 2005 London.
